One thing is for sure that FoE is now in my top 3 dramas irrespective of the language. Nevertheless this is best kdrama I have seen I dont think any other can even come close to it. I bawled my eyes out during the scene where daddy Baek hugged BHS in his imagination. We will never know what happened between them in the past, but the line “I was waiting for you,” hit me hard.

Anyways, you give me hope for a possible satisfying ending in “The Penthouse”. I can’t take most full-on makjangs like Temptation of Wife or Penthouse. And I can’t take certain tropes like rape or incest/fauxcest, and I have a low tolerance for histrionics. But I’ve developed a taste for some makjang tropes and I’ve certainly enjoyed many dramas that are part makjang, and part something else.

Marriage, Not Dating Episode 16

I want some closure between these characters. After all, without Jung Mi Sook, it would be hard to expose the accomplice’ identity. She’s an important character no matter what other people say. He’s experiencing things that he didn’t experience the first time, I love that for the Do family. Eun-ha omg, this girl is going to make me cry again. Aww, the flashback to her being a micro-baby.

Kokdu: Season of Deity ( Episode 14

Everyone has a chance at a new beginning, and the opportunity to create themselves anew, given the positives and the realities that they have just discovered about themselves and each other. By episode 16, Hyun Soo had no clear identity www.legitdatingsites.com of his own, he had no understanding of himself that he could trust … And he had no, personally held, memories of the last 14 years … So he could not have just have returned to his life as though nothing had happened.

Marriage Not Dating Episode 16

Honestly the plot is cliche in the long run, like you’d definitely expect the ending like that. But anyways, even if it’s cliche, the characters make it interesting. I do wonder what will be the eventual outcome of their relationship. For the time being I’m open to both, also because there’s a charming enough SML who seems to be a decent enough guy. I hope they don’t bring in some random heroic plot device for the ML to save the day – like if they reveal he divorced her for some self-sacrificial move it’d be pretty irritating.

Bride of the century is such a guilty pleasure for me! I binged all of The Last Empress within a week last year and it was so addicting. I’m still angry about what happened to the male lead. Definitely do agree with you on this, tone makes such a big difference on whether a trope is used in a makjangish way or not. Thus, makjang can be used to refer to specific elements of a drama or the drama overall as a genre designation.

But in the end I think the amnesia gave both him and Jiwon a chance to start over with a clean slate. They are both now able to love each other for who they really are and I think that’s the best ending for them. The first 10 episodes or so when tensions were running extremely high just blew me away – I began following the show weekly after the 10th. From seeing him being serial killer-ish to that last scene in episode15, Do Hyun Su has been portrayed beautifully. I will rewatch the whole show only for his crazy microexpressions.

Talk about being decisive and cut-throat … Like ripping off a bandage that covers a severe burn or something. I did not expect to be this attacked with episode 12… Thank you for explaining and giving examples of “makjang”. It’s too much for someone logically trained!

It was definitely a fun series, the description led me to believe it would be more along the lines of ” start up ” having not read the manhwa first. Also, Kim Se-jeong singing the ED for the final episode was just, chef’s kiss. That and the proposal did a fair bit to salvage the final episode from being a complete failure. I didn’t know the show ended at episode 12 and was like oh well at least I’ll have four more episodes. Yes Mr. Gye is great fun to watch, every time he was on.
